SARKOZY IS FED UP WITH "OBAMANIA" !

He is going to come back !

At last !

We have been waiting for him for more than eight months now... And we have been missing him so much...

This morning, when I learnt that the Messiah from America had consented to answer "Yes" to the little man who is leading France, I felt an intense emotion, euphoria invaded me.... This thursday was magic for me...

Yes, he will !
Obama will be in France, in Normandy, on the sixth of June, probably with Michelle...

And he will certainly show us the good path to follow to solve the economic crisis, for we are only poor little, ignorant French people...








In any case, it took a long time to convince him to accept...
The French diplomats were obliged to harass Obama's advisers for weeks in order to make him finally agree to come.


Phew ! What a relief !
Who could have imagined that we might celebrate the American landing in Normandy on June, 6th, 1944, and pay a tribute to our American friends without their new leader ? For sure, his absence would have totally spoilt this celebration...


I suppose the phone conversation which took place between Mister O. and Sarkozy yesterday was decisive...
Sarko must have forgiven Obama for forgetting who the French president is, and for sending a letter to... Jacques Chirac !

Now they are good friends again...

Except that...


All is not that simple. No brave new world. Judging from this revelation made by the French newspaper Le Parisien, yesterday :


Instead of meeting Obama personally when he comes to Europe next week, Nicolas Sarkozy will speak to him on the phone today.
The two men will speak about the preparation of the G-20 Summit which will take place in London on the second of April.
The announcement of this phone call was made as early as Monday by the Elysée Palace, in such a solemn manner that it gave the impression that a French-American summit was going to take place.
It was as if the French presidency wanted to put an end to the rumors which say that the two presidents do not get on well. It has to be precised that Nicolas Sarkozy has never been invited to the White House by the new American president, contrary to the British Prime Minister, Gordon Brown.
In private, the French president makes it clear that he is starting to feel fed up with the general "Obamania" : he is reported to have said : "The world is large enough, we can be two, three or four [great leaders]". He thus put himself on an equal footing with the leader of the first world's superpower.


Ouch !
Sarko is jealous of his American counterpart, the Saviour of the world.
Sarko is fed up with Obamania !

In reality, this does not come as a surprise to me...

One is jealous... The other one is contemptuous...
What a couple !

But, beware... Sarko had better be more careful when he speaks. To let people know that Obama's popularity irritates him is a political, diplomatic gaffe, I think. For Obama could get hurt and could decide to cancel his trip to France.

Unless... he perfectly understands Sarkozy's point of view. Isn't he himself an arrogant gaffe- maker ?
