President Barack Obama left the cold weather of Washington, D.C. behind Thursday as he and the first family arrived on Oahu...

The Los Angeles Times this morning reveals that "the White House won't detail when the president's vacation officially ends " : Ha ! Ha ! Ha ! Isn't that funny ? Why ? Is Obama afraid of people's reactions when they learn that their president intends to stay under the sun almost a fortnight ? (in fact, the Kailua house has been rented till -at least- January 5th...)
U.S. President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama arrive at Hickam Air Force Base for their holiday vacation in Hawaii, December 24, 2009.
The Obamas have rented several houses, for themselves, relatives and friends, each costing at least $ 4,000 a night.
Who is paying ? Nobody really knows...
But who is paying for the trip, and all the security measures taken, everybody knows !
You, my dear Americans !
It has been revealed that Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hannemann will be spending $100,000 or more on presidential security, so of course, it means American taxpayers (once again) will offer the Obama family costly vacation, on a real paradise on earth, even if it is hard for them to afford Christmas presents for their own children.
Moreover, as is the case wherever the president goes, a small army in the range of 200 aides, Secret Service, communications and transportation personnel accompany him or are in place in Hawaii.

Yesterday, Not more than 20 minutes after touching down on Oahu, the Presidential motorcade was off and rolling. Many drivers got their first glimpse of the first family on the H-3 freeway.
Sierra Allen grabbed her phone to take video.
"We pulled over everyone had their cameras ready," she said.
As the long line of cars and police escort entered Kailua, residents lined the street.
"We saw bunch of cars coming by, about 15 black cars and a bunch of police cars," said 9 year-old Dylan Sylva.
The first family was driven past barricades to their Kailuana vacation home. Now surrounded by security.
The U.S. Coast Guard is setting up a security zone in the waters off President Barack Obama's vacation home on Oahu.
The Coast Guard said Thursday small boats will enforce the zone around part of Kailua Bay through Jan. 5. The restrictions may be lifted before then.
Those entering the zone without permission may be fined up to $25,000 and imprisoned for up to 10 years. Yellow buoys mark the restricted area.
So, if I were you, I would avoid Hawaii, these days...
maybe you're like me... you simply cannot afford vacationing there ! !
